1. My commitment

Ruby Cole is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of every child I work with. All children, regardless of age, disability, gender, race, religion or belief, sex or sexual orientation, have the right to be protected from harm.

2. Recruitment and vetting

Ruby Cole holds a valid enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) certificate and is a qualified teacher. Where additional practitioners are involved in delivering sessions, they are subject to the same vetting standards.

3. Session conduct

Online sessions take place using secure video platforms, and a parent or carer should be reachable nearby. In-person sessions take place in appropriate, agreed settings.

4. Raising a concern

If you have any concerns about the welfare of a child, or about the conduct of a session, please contact me immediately at hello@rubycole.co.uk. Concerns will be taken seriously and handled promptly and confidentially.

If a child is in immediate danger, always contact emergency services on 999. For non-emergency safeguarding concerns you feel unable to raise with me directly, you can contact the NSPCC helpline on 0808 800 5000, or your local authority's children's social care team.

5. Confidentiality

Information shared by children and families is treated with care and confidentiality, except where there is a safeguarding concern that must be shared with the appropriate authorities to protect a child.

This policy is reviewed regularly to ensure it reflects current best practice.
